A verbal dispute between residents at a Houston apartment complex escalated into a shooting Saturday evening, leaving two men wounded, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Harris County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a shooting call at The Park at Cumberland Apartments, located at 505 Cypress Station Drive, at approximately 7:48 p.m. on Oct. 17, 2026.
Investigators say a verbal altercation between residents turned physical before an adult woman fired into a crowd of several people standing nearby. Deputies arrived to find two adult men with gunshot wounds.
EMS transported both men to a hospital, where they are expected to survive. Preliminary information indicates both wounded men were involved in the physical altercation prior to the shooting.
The woman was detained at the scene. Authorities say there is no ongoing threat to the community.
Detectives are interviewing witnesses and searching for surveillance video. Investigators have not yet determined the relationship between those involved.
Detectives will present the case to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office to determine whether charges will be filed.
