Warmer days are coming for Houston but the humidity remains low

Work week warm-up:

Each day, morning and afternoon temperatures will rise by a couple of degrees. Gone are the mornings in the 40s and afternoons in the 70s. It won’t be hot, but we’re losing that crisp fall feel the rest of the week. There is good news with humidity. It will stay low through the weekend.

Temperatures in the mid-80s through the weekend

Warm and dry through the weekend:

We are in a weather pattern called an omega block. Looking below you can see the Greek Symbol for Omega. This blocking pattern occurs when two areas of low pressure “block” high pressure from moving. Because we’re under the high, we’ll experience dry weather with warm temperatures. This pattern won’t change until early next week.

Warmer pattern for later this week

Tracking the tropics:

There is an area off the east coast that has a 40% chance of becoming our next tropical system. It is currently a noreaster but may become tropical. It will bring strong winds and coastal flooding from Delaware to the Outer Banks. There is already 8-12′ waves. It will not make direct hit on the United States.

The orange color is where a tropical system may form

Extended forecast:

I know you are all wanting to know when the next cold front will move through. It could move through Tuesday October 27th. Temperatures may fall back to the 50s in the morning and 70s in the afternoon. This would bring a cool fall feel on Halloween night. Of course we’ll keep you posted.

What to expect through Friday of next week
